Summary/Objective
The mechanic plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our services by efficiently maintaining and repairing equipment as required, reporting on defects and deficiencies, and serving as resource for field employees when they cannot troubleshoot or fix issues on their own.
Requirements/Responsibilities
Field Service Mechanics play a critical role in maintaining equipment and while serving as the primary point of contact for our repairs. The following duties are essential for achieving this objective:
Communication - Liaise with manufacturers, vendors, and operators to facilitate repairs and maintenance.
Service - Diagnose, repair, and maintain hydraulic cranes, forklifts, rich lifts, and other material handling equipment; conduct inspections and services on regular intervals according to the manufacturers instructions, federal, state, and local regulations, and industry best practices; and record and report all defects, deficiencies, and conditions in the company's maintenance tracking system.
Availability - On occasion, travel to customer job sites, other yards, and vendor facilities to conduct or facilitate repairs; be on-call during evenings, nights, and weekends - including holidays; and maintain your assigned service truck and always have it ready to work.
Qualifications
- (Preferred) Three years of direct experience in repairing and maintaining mobile crane equipment, as well as various types of forklifts.
- Must have a strong background in electrical, drivetrain, engines, hydraulics, and computer-controlled systems.
- Willing to be on-call evening, nights, and weekends for crane repairs at customer’s job sites.
- Must be able to travel on short notice and be gone overnight.
- Must communicate effectively and professionally with customers, supervisors, and other employees.
- Knowledge and experience in assembling and disassembling various cranes and forklifts is a plus but not required.
- Able to read schematics (both hydraulic and electrical).
- Able to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to perform tasks independently without direct supervision.
- Computer literate with the ability to process information.
- Have a valid CDL, clean driving record, and can drive a company service truck.
