Summary/Objective

The Dispatcher plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our services by efficiently coordinating the movement of cranes, trucks, equipment, and personnel to and from job sites across the region. They are responsible for optimizing logistics and maximizing the effective use of resources while maintaining our operational tempo day-in and day-out.

Requirements/Responsibilities

Dispatch plays a critical role in coordinating equipment and personnel logistics while serving as the primary point of contact for our customers. The following duties are essential for achieving this objective:

Communication - Promptly answer calls on a multi-line phone system and gather comprehensive project information from customers.

Quoting - Generate quotes promptly, accurately, and comprehensively during customer discussions to meet project needs effectively.

Job Scheduling - Optimize fleet utilization through efficient dispatching practices, including route and schedule analysis, coordination with Maintenance, and consideration of past and future work.

Dispatching - Efficiently pair equipment and personnel to minimize costs and match job requirements regarding location and timing. Communicate daily expectations to field employees and maintain awareness of personnel whereabouts and timelines.

Post-Job Reviews - Validate completion of all necessary documentation, including timecards and crane tags, and follow up on missing information.

Time Auditing - Verify accurate time recording on timecards and ensure compliance with labor and union laws.

Safety Liaison - Coordinate safety meetings and training for field employees. Serve as the first point of contact for safety incidents, triaging and executing safety processes per the Safety Handbook.

Qualifications

  • (Preferred) Proven experience in non-emergency dispatching services, preferably in the crane industry
  • (Preferred) Proficient with multi-line phone systems and modern scheduling software
  • Computer literate with the ability to process information
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Strong work ethic with a commitment to quality
  • Ability to work independently and without direct supervision
  • Capacity to handle multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Knowledge or understanding of labor union rules and regulations
  • Be at least 21 years of age
