Summary/Objective
The oiler plays a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency and safety of our crane operations by assisting crane operators, conducting routine maintenance, and ensuring all equipment is well-lubricated and functioning correctly.
Requirements/Responsibilities
Oilers are responsible for supporting crane operations through the following essential duties:
Equipment Maintenance - Perform daily lubrication and maintenance checks on cranes and other heavy machinery; ensure all moving parts are adequately greased and in good working condition.
Support Crane Operations - Assist crane operators with setup and breakdown of equipment; ensure cranes are stable and secure during operations.
Inspection and Reporting - Conduct routine inspections of cranes and other equipment; report any issues or potential safety hazards to supervisors immediately.
Safety Compliance - Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols; ensure worksite safety by keeping areas clear and monitoring equipment for potential issues.
Documentation - Maintain accurate records of maintenance performed and materials used; complete necessary documentation for regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
- Experience with heavy machinery maintenance and lubrication.
- Familiarity with construction sites and the ability to work in noisy, potentially hazardous environments.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and work well in a team.
- (Preferred) Previous experience as an oiler or in a similar role.
- Willing to be on-call evening, nights, and weekends for operations at customer's job sites.
- Must be able to travel on short notice and be gone overnight.
- Must communicate effectively and professionally with customers, supervisors, and other employees.
- Able to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to perform tasks independently without direct supervision.
- Computer literate with the ability to process information.
- Have a valid CDL, clean driving record, and can drive a company service truck.
